Step 1: Install Spark AR studio
If you need to create an AR filter Spark AR studio is the easy to use platform. Spark AR studio is now available for Windows and Mac.
STEP 2: Decide on your effect
Next step is to decide whether you will create a filter from scratch or choose one from the given templates.
You can select the World object template. This involves putting a 3D object into the real world.
Step 3: Getting started
In this step, when you open the template you will see a placeholder object in the central panel and it is known as the viewport. Here you can build your filter. There is a simulator in the corner. This is where you can preview your work. There you find a dropdown button, from there you select the option according to the, you can change the Simulator to any device. You will see the option on the left side that is known as Scene panel. Use it to edit your Instagram AR filter.
Step 4: Upload a 3D Asset
Next is to choose a 3D asset for your filter from the AR library or you can also import the 3D object.
You can also select any object from free audio files, animations from the AR library.
Step 5: It’s time to edit the behaviour of the uploaded graphic
After importing the 3D asset you will see the assets in the viewport. By using a scene panel you can edit how it looks, moves with the real world. You can change the colour and intensity and these edits will result in your AR filter.
If you explore the Scene panel on the left, you will find many options and with all these, you can change the directional light to give a 3D object. You can alter the animation of the uploaded 3D object. You can select whether the effect is available for the back camera, front camera or both.
Step 6: Test your effect
And it’s time to test the effect you can send your test file to face-book or Instagram and can see how it works in Instagram stories.
Step 7: You are ready to publish your AR Filter
Now, press the upload button. You will that button right below the “test on device” button.
Your new effect won’t be published immediately. There are some AR’s policies and guidelines that should be meeting with your created filter. This process might take a few days or a week.
As soon as your AR filter gets approved, You can click the pictures and put the story on Instagram.
